The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation selected the design of the Russian Exhibition at the First China International Import Expo (CIIE, hereinafter referred to as the Expo) to be held on 5–10 November 2018 in Shanghai.
The selected design concept represents the degree and complexity of participation of the Russian Federation in the event. It is based on a modern and concise graphic solution that highlights the dynamics of development of relations between Russia and China. The theme of the two countries’ aspiration to cooperation in multiple areas is naturally symbolised by multicoloured parallel lines that reach towards each other, support each other and are combined in a single image. These lines make up silhouettes of business and cultural centres of the two countries.
The prospects for foreign economic cooperation and implementation of Russia-China joint industrial, investments, and infrastructure projects were reflected in the images of the most recognisable business centres of the two countries: Moscow International Business Centre and Pudong New Area, the main business district of Shanghai.
Besides graphic images, the national symbols were also reflected in the traditional colour scheme — the design of the Russian exhibition area features blue, red, and white colours that match the tricolour of the Russian Federation.
