The Russian Federation will take part in the First China International Import Expo as a guest country of honour. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and Russian Export Centre JSC (REC) are responsible for all-out preparations for the Russian Federation’s participation in the Expo.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will present a national exposition introducing the industrial, trade, and investment potential of the country and promising Russia—China projects. Alongside with the national exposition, the Expo will include an exposition of Russian exporters represented by companies in various sectors, such as agriculture, medicine and public healthcare, hi-tech equipment, consumer goods, accessories, and services. The total exposition area will make 2,000sq.m.
For the purpose of business meetings with potential buyers of Russian products, a number of B2B events will be organised on the sidelines of the Expo through the Chinese representative of REC with involvement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Russian Trade Representation in China. The Russian business programme at the Expo will include a plenary session, a number of industry sessions, B2B meetings and presentations, and a business mission of Russian businesses in China. Representatives of the Russian business community will present their projects, hold business negotiations and meetings with potential Chinese partners, and take part in round-table discussions and workshops. Besides, they will also attend the first Hongqiao International Foreign Trade Forum.
To promote a positive image of the Russian Federation in the international market and raise the Expo exhibitors’ and guests’ interest in Russia as a partner, the Russian national exposition will present a varied concert programme In Russian North on 6–10 November. It will comprise performances by Honoured Folk Art Ensemble of the Russian Federation Polar Light, Honoured Worker of Culture of Yamal Anzhelika Kulmametova, and Moscow-based performance group Barvikha Dance. In total, over 40 performers will take part in the cultural programme at the Expo.
